Cookie policy

By the SantiagoDelTeide.com editorial team Updated: 2026-08-17 How we make this guide

This guide uses the minimum cookies needed to work, plus one measurement tool that only runs if you allow it. Here is the detail: what is stored, how long it lasts and how to change your mind at any time.

What we use and why

To remember your choice

When you accept or reject, we store that choice in your browser. It is the only thing stored without asking, because without it we would have to ask you on every page.

To know which pages help

If you accept, Google Analytics loads. It tells us which guides get read and which do not, which is how we decide what to improve. If you reject, it does not load at all.

What we do not do

We use no advertising cookies, we do not sell data and we build no profiles. The portal’s own statistics are aggregate counts: no cookies and nobody identified.

The cookies, one by one

sdt_consent

Type: Own, strictly necessary

Duration: 6 months

Stores whether you accepted or rejected measurement. After that we ask again.

_ga

Type: Google Analytics, measurement

Duration: 2 years

Distinguishes visitors in order to count visits. Only created if you accept.

_ga_ plus the identifier

Type: Google Analytics, measurement

Duration: 2 years

Keeps the measurement session state. Only created if you accept.

Changing your mind

There is a «Cookies» button at the bottom left that brings the notice back so you can choose differently. If you reject after having accepted, we stop loading the tool; any cookies already set can be deleted from your browser.

From your browser

Every browser lets you view, block and delete cookies from its privacy settings. Blocking them does not stop you using this guide: none of its features depend on measurement.
