Charco de Isla Cangrejo, also known as the Los Gigantes natural pool or "Crab Island", is a pool cut into volcanic rock inside the Isla Cangrejo residential area, on Calle Magnolia. A concrete wall shelters it from the open sea and creates a calm swimming spot, with direct views of the Los Gigantes cliffs that make it a popular sunset stop.
Steps lead down to the water. Entry is free, but there is no lifeguard: avoid swimming when the sea is rough or at high tide, as waves can strike hard against the volcanic edge. Check the sea conditions before going and pick a calm day.
