The Fiestas del Carmen are one of the most notable summer celebrations on the municipality's coast. Their centrepiece is the maritime procession of the Virgen del Carmen, patron of fishermen, around 16 July, when the image is carried out to sea escorted by the harbour's boats. It is an annual fiesta: the programme changes each year, so check dates and events in the official agenda before going.
