Casa del Patio
A 17th-century manor complex preserving the agricultural and social history of the former Valle de Santiago.
Casa del Patio is one of the most representative historic complexes in Santiago del Teide town. Built between 1665 and 1668 as the residence of the lord of the valley, it explains how land ownership, farming and everyday life were organised in the uplands.
The estate included living quarters, courtyards, wine presses, threshing floors and granaries. Some buildings now form part of a rural hotel, so viewing the heritage from outside must not be confused with free access to private areas. Combine it with San Fernando Rey church and a quiet walk through the old town.
Respect all signs and ask the establishment before entering any interior space. The stone, timber and tiled architecture is best appreciated on foot without blocking entrances or guest areas.
